ABOUT

Erica Eckel, M.A CCC-SLP is a Neurodiversity affirming Speech-Language Pathologist with specific expertise in Sensory Integration, Parent Coaching, and Early Intervention. Erica received her Master's degree from George Washington University and her undergraduate degree from James Madison University. Erica is licensed in the state of California and certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She has professional certification in Early Intervention from Georgetown University, SOS Approach to Feeding, and is PROMPT trained. Her approach to therapy emphasizes neuroplasticity, mindfulness, and meaningful connection. She collaborates with colleagues, nutritionists, and occupational, music, art, and social-emotional-based therapists to provide an integrated and holistic approach that seeks to see, hear, and treat the whole person.
Erica wholeheartedly believes in a holistic approach to any therapeutic intervention. Holistic means that it takes into account the whole person, not just their speech sounds, vocabulary, and grammar but why they are having these communication challenges in the first place. What is the root? What is the ripple effect? And how can we best untangle any knots along the way? How can we formulate a multi-modal communication style that works best for the whole family?
It is her mission to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families while improving their communication skills and their quality of life, through evidence-based practices, genuine connection, and a multi-modal approach including sensory integration, humor, trust, kindness, and love.

Erica is a proud member and trained provider of the following evidence-based treatment approaches, and therapeutic resources.
